Supplies needed to make a pinecone Christmas tree:

  • Pinecones
  • Wood slices
  • Wooden stars
  • Acrylic Paint (Green, White, Red, Yellow, Blue)
  • Paintbrushes
  • Hot Glue Gun

First, you’ll need to get pinecones. You can either find them outside or purchase a bag like I did. I ordered this bag of 8 natural pinecones here. Paint your entire pinecone green and let dry.

Next, I added a bit of white paint to the edges of the pinecone to represent some fallen snow.

After that is dry, use a small paint brush to add in some dots for Christmas lights.

For the next step you’ll need wooden stars. I just got a pack of these at my local craft store. Paint the front and back of the star yellow and let dry.

For the base, I purchased a bag of wooden slices (view here). I love these wooden discs. They make such great bases and give any project a subtle rustic feel.

Hot glue the bottom of the pinecone to the wooden slice. Finally, add a dab of hot glue to the top of the pinecone and press on the yellow star.

And there you have it! An adorable pinecone Christmas tree! Make a few of these and create your own Christmas tree forest.
