These labels are quick and easy to customize and print yourself at home. Simply stick to a store bought champagne bottle (or really any other type of bottle) and you are good to go!
So, I had actually written this blog post at an earlier time but had purposely waited to publish it until today for one special reason. Just in case a certain one of my friends decided to check out my blog, I didn’t want to spoil her boyfriends big plans that he had in store for her.
A few weeks ago my friend’s boyfriend had let us all know that he was going to propose! He had the ring, had everything all planned out, and wanted all of his soon to be fiancé’s friends and family at a restaurant waiting to celebrate.
I wanted to bring a little gift to the engagement party but couldn’t think of any good ideas. That’s when I realized that with all of the big events that will be soon coming for them, (moving in together, bridal showers, bachelor and bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinners etc.) they will probably be popping a lot of champagne!
Instead of just giving them a bottle of champagne, I wanted to make it a little more personal. And that is what gave me the idea to create these custom champagne bottle labels that you can personalize and print today.

How to customize the engagement champagne bottle labels:
Download one of the label pdfs from the links at the bottom of this post. Open up the file in Adobe Acrobat. Here, you should see blue text boxes. Fill in the blue text boxes with the couples name and the date of their engagement or wedding date.
While your text will remain highlighted in blue, only your custom text will print.
If you are in need of a very last minute engagement party gift, you can definitely print on a regular piece of printer paper or cardstock. Trim the label and glue or tape it to the bottle.
However, for the best and most professional looking champagne bottle label, I would definitely recommend printing on white sticker paper. Waterproof sticker paper will hold up much better than regular paper and will also look a lot more professional.
After you print the labels out, you can trim them using scissors or a paper cutter. I would recommend this paper cutter that I currently have on my desk. I am the worst at cutting straight lines with scissors so having it around is a huge help!
Tip: You can use scalloped or zig zag scissors to add a fun detail around the edge of the label.
Feel free to download and print as many champagne bottle labels as you would like. However, please do not sell or redistribute the labels in any way. These files were created for personal use only.
If your original champagne bottle label is on the smaller side, you may be able to stick the new label on top. However, for the best quality, I would highly recommend taking off the original label first. Follow the instructions below for more details on how to remove a champagne bottle label.
How to remove a champagne bottle label:
- Fill up a container with warm water and a couple tablespoons of baking soda. Place the champagne bottle in the container, making sure that the label is fully submerged in the water. Let soak for about 30 mins.
- Remove the champagne bottle from the water and you should be able to wipe off the label with a washcloth or rag. If any of the adhesive material remains on the bottle, you can use a small amount of rubbing alcohol to remove the excess residue.
- After the champagne bottle is completely clean and dry, stick your new label on and you’re now ready for the engagement party!
Custom Champagne Labels
The champagne labels are available in two different sizes. The one you download will depend on the size and shape of your bottle.
The full size champagne bottle labels will measure 4×3.5 inches when trimmed. 2 labels will print per 8.5×11 inch page.
The mini sized labels will measure 3.5×2 inches when trimmed. 6 labels will print per 8.5×11 inch page. All you need to do is fill in the text boxes for one label, and it will autofill the other labels as well.
The full size champagne bottle is great for an engagement or wedding gift. The smaller sized labels would be great for mini bottles of champagne for handing out as favors, or as a bridal party gift.
As mentioned previously, you can use standard printer paper, cardstock, or white waterproof sticker paper (for best results!)
