Get ready for some fun and creativity with this super cute build a turtle craft. Whether you are looking for an animal themed activity to work on at home, in a library, during a classroom party or any other setting, this craft is just what you are looking for!
This is a simple craft that is perfect for younger kids such as toddlers or preschool aged children.
Here are the materials you will need:
- Free printable coloring page template (the download link is located at the bottom of this page)
- White printer paper or white cardstock
- Markers, crayons colored pencils or any other kinds of art supplies you happen to have available
- Scissors
- Glue
- Construction paper
Steps to easily create your own turtle:
Step 1:
Print out the template onto white printer paper or white cardstock. If you end up deciding to use standard printer paper, I would highly suggest mounting the completed turtle project onto a colored piece of construction paper.
Step 2:
Once all of the shapes have been colored in, you can start cutting out each piece of the turtle. While of course this is a fun activity for kids, it is also a wonderful opportunity for them to work on improving their scissor skills and their fine motor skills.
Step 3:
Now it is time to assemble your turtle project! Start by taking a piece of colored construction paper and start by gluing the pieces of the turtle together. At the bottom of the page, I have included a small diagram to reference while assembling the turtle.
And there you have it! A super cute animal craft ready for display on the refrigerator or classroom wall!
