Whether you need a classroom activity, something fun to do on a rainy day, or a festive game for a Valentine’s Day party, this free printable Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt is just what you need!
How do you set up and play the scavenger hunt?
First, cut out each of the Valentine’s Day–themed images. Using tape or mounting putty, stick the images around the house, the classroom, or even outside! Once all of the items have been found, kids can bring their completed checklist page back to you and maybe even earn a small prize or sticker.
Depending on the age group you’re playing with, you can hide the Valentine’s Day images in easier or more challenging spots. This scavenger hunt can be played over and over again simply by changing where you hide each image.
After all the images are hidden, give each child a blank scavenger hunt checklist (clipboards make it even more fun!). Kids can then search around the house, classroom, or party space and check off each Valentine’s Day item as they find it.
Supplies needed:
- Scavenger hunt pdf (the download link is available at the bottom of this post)
- Scissors
- Pencils, pens, crayons or markers
- Mounting putty or tape
- (Optional) Lamination machine and laminating sheets
- (Optional) Dry erase markers

How to ensure that your scavenger hunt holds up year after year.
A great way to make sure that your scavenger hunt game is able to be reused year after year is to laminate both the checklist page and the individual Valentine’s Day images. This is the home lamination machine that I actually have in my office and I’m kind of obsessed with it!
All you need to do is laminate the graphic pages and the checklist pages. Cut out the individual graphics and then use a dry erase marker to check off each image from the checklist page as you find them.
Once the children are finished playing with the scavenger hunt game, you can store away the checklist and graphics for the next year.
Free Printable Valentine’s Day Scavenger Hunt Game
This free printable Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt game is designed to print on three standard 8.5×11 inch sheets of paper. For the best results, I recommend printing the pages on white cardstock, especially the graphics pages, so you can reuse the Valentine’s Day–themed images year after year without worrying about wear and tear.
Once everything is printed, cut out each Valentine’s Day graphic. Cut lines are included to create a clean white border around each image.
You can print as many checklist pages as needed, depending on how many kids will be participating in the scavenger hunt. If you’re printing a large number of checklists, feel free to print those pages in black and white to save ink.
Favorite Supplies:
These are a few of my favorite supplies that I use and LOVE!
- White Cardstock: For most projects, I recommend printing onto cardstock. It is much more durable than standard printer paper and often produces a higher quality print.
- Crayons: A staple in any crafting household. Crayola is always the top notch choice!
- Kid Friendly Safety Scissors: These are perfect for little kids learning how to use scissors. They cut paper but not fingers or hair!
- Glue Sticks: These disappearing purple glue sticks are by far my favorite! I love buying them in bulk since we use them so often!
- Lamination Machine: Laminating printables are a great way to make them last longer. If you are planning on laminating to make games reusable, be sure to get a bunch of dry erase markers as well.
- Dry Erase Pockets: Dry erase pockets are a great alternative to using a lamination machine when wanting to make printable games and activities reusable.
- Printer: A high quality printer is always recommended for the best results. If you are in need of a printer this Brother Wireless Printer is a great choice.
