Baby Shower Gift for Target Lovers

I was so excited when one of my best friends told me that she is pregnant with her second baby! Because she already has all the baby essentials from when her daughter was a newborn, I had a hard time figuring out what to give her for a gift.

I think gift cards are such an underrated gift to give someone. After all the big items are purchased there are still ongoing expenses such as food, diapers and wipes. Giving a gift card allows the parents to shop for these types of things as they run out.

My friend is a huge fan of Target, so I wanted to give her a gift card to buy some things for her new baby. This idea is definitely for you if you’re looking for a gift for Target lovers.

At first I bought a $100 Target gift card. I then went to Amazon and found this really cute felt letter board. This one I bought is 10×10 inches. This doubled as a background for the gift card and well as an additional present for my friend. How cute would this sign be to display next to the new baby for monthly photos!

I think this first attempt turned out really nice, but I wanted to make it just a bit more interesting.

So instead, I decided to purchase 20 $5 gift cards. I thought that would be more fun to work with. If you’re planning on recreating this baby shower gift yourself, I would recommend ordering the cards online; one so that you can get all the same design and two so you don’t totally wipe out the stores inventory of gift cards!

Anyway! After writing out the rhyme on the sign, I used Scotch Brand Adhesive Putty to stick the gift cards to the edges of the letterboard frame.

After this, all you need to do is place the sign and gift card combo in a large baby themed gift bag or gently wrap it up in clear cellophane. What a great gift for Target lovers!
