This activity is perfect for working on at home, in the classroom or during a playdate. It is fun for a wide variety of ages and allows for tons of creativity. All while working on scissor skills and fine motor skills.
Supplies needed:
- Free printable template (both the color and black and white version download links are located via the form at the bottom of this page)
- White printer paper or cardstock
- Crayons, markers or colored pencils
- Scissors
- Glue
How to use the activity:
The first step is to choose which version of the craft you would like to do. The color version is already fully colored in. The black and white version adds a bit more creativity as you will have to color in the fish bowl items yourself.
Next, print out the two page templates onto white printer paper or cardstock.
If using the black and white version, start by coloring in all of the shapes using crayons, markers or colored pencils.
If using the colored version you can skip this step and move right on to cutting out all of the fish bowl elements. If your kids are able to safely use scissors, this would be an excellent time for them to practice their scissor skills and fine motor skills by cutting all of the shapes out along the dotted lines.
Once all of the shapes have been cut out, you can now begin gluing everything into the fish bowl. There is a reference diagram at the bottom of the second page, however, feel free to get creative and design the fish bowl however you would like.
This craft features many items to help you crate your very own fish bowl.
Some items you can include are:
- Three different colored fish
- Two types of plants
- Rocks
- Starfish
- Sandcastle
Favorite Printable Supplies:
These are a few of my favorite supplies that I use for printable games and activities:
- White Cardstock: For most projects, I recommend printing onto cardstock. It is much more durable than standard printer paper and often produces a higher quality print.
- Crayons: A staple in any crafting household. Crayola is always the top notch choice!
- Kid Friendly Safety Scissors: These are perfect for little kids learning how to use scissors. They cut paper but not fingers or hair!
- Glue Sticks: These disappearing purple glue sticks are by far my favorite! I love buying them in bulk since we use them so often!
- Lamination Machine: Laminating printables are a great way to make them last longer. If you are planning on laminating to make games reusable, be sure to get a bunch of dry erase markers as well.
- Dry Erase Pockets: Dry erase pockets are a great alternative to using a lamination machine when wanting to make printable games and activities reusable.
- Printer: A high quality printer is always recommended for the best results. If you are in need of a printer this Brother Wireless Printer is a great choice.
