Updated for the 2020-2021 school year.

It’s crazy to think that in a few short weeks, kids will be going back to school. This summer is flying by! What better way to capture your kid’s first day of school than a photo of them holding an adorable sign. I’ve created a set of free printable first day of school signs for pre-school all the way up to 12th grade.

I think that one of the best parts about these first day of school signs is that you can print them out at the last minute. Or if you are really last minute (I’m talking the school bus is already at the end of the block kind of last minute!) just open up the pdf on your phone or tablet and snap a quick picture.

Each first day of school sign is sized to fit on a standard 8.5×11 inch piece of paper. For the best quality I would highly recommend printing on white cardstock. These signs would also look great in a nice frame as well!

Feel free to download and print as many copies of the first day of school signs as you would like. However, please do not edit or redistribute the files in any way. These signs are intended for personal or classroom use only.

The first day of each grade only comes around once! Capture that special moment with a cute first day of school sign!

All About Me” back to school questionnaire
Have your children fill out the printable questionnaire before the start of each school year. Make sure to tape a photo of them to the page, or even have them draw a self portrait! Afterwords you can then store them in a nice folder, box or binder. Think of how much fun it will be in the years to come to look back at how your child answered each question. You might be surprised how things change! Click here to read the full blog post and download the free printable files.
