Growing up, I had always loved when Valentine’s Day fell on a school day as opposed to a weekend.
The elementary school I attended always had such fun Valentine’s Day activities planned. From baked sales, to classroom parties, fun craft projects and of course handing out Valentine’s to our friends.
I remember one year our teacher had us make Valentines mailboxes out of old tissue boxes we brought in. Decorating the boxes were so much fun and then walking around the classroom delivering Valentine cards to each of our classmates was even better.
When we got back to our desks we would open up our mailboxes and see all of the fun candy, treats and cards that were left for us. My favorite part was always seeing if whichever boy I had a crush on that year would leave me a Valentine’s Day card!
And while now I know that every student is required to give a Valentine to everyone in a class, it still made me feel special!
There are 21 Valentines Day themed words to find in this fun word search game. It is also a great activity to help kids build their vocabulary, improve their spelling skills, and maybe even learn a few new words.

Hand out all of the word search games to your group with the paper face down. When someone says “GO,” have everyone try to find all of the words as fast as possible. Whoever finds all of the words in the puzzle the fastest, can win a prize.
Set a timer.
Similar to the idea above, but this time with a set amount of time. Set a timer for 5 minutes and have everyone try to find as many words as they can. The person who has found the most words by the time the timer goes off, can win a prize!
Make it into a raffle.
Have everyone work on their work search puzzle at their leisure. After they have completed it, have each person write their name at the top of the page and place the completed puzzle into a box or a hat. At the end of the party or event, the host can choose one game out of the box at random and whoever’s game is chosen, will win a prize.
