How do you play the ABC game?

First, give each player a game page. On the page, you will see a line next to each letter of the alphabet. The goal of the activity is to come up with one Halloween related word that begins with each letter.

Here are a couple of examples to help get you started:

A: Afraid
B: Bones
C: Candy

How to make the game more fun for groups

While the ABC game is fun to play on your own, you might wish to play it with a group of people at a party or in the classroom.

One way to add some more challenge and competition to the activity is to turn it into a scattegories game.

To do this, hand out an activity page to each player. Set a timer for 3-5 minutes. (Or longer if you are playing with younger children). Go through each letter of the alphabet and come up with a Halloween themed word.

The trick here is to try and come up with as unique words as possible.

After the time runs out, go around the room and have each player read aloud their answers. If you have the same answer as someone else, both of you must cross the word off of your page.

Whichever player has the most unique words at the end of the game, wins!

Lamination Machine: Laminating printables are a great way to make them last longer. If you are planning on laminating to make games reusable, be sure to get a bunch of dry erase markers as well.
Dry Erase Pockets: Dry erase pockets are a great alternative to using a lamination machine when wanting to make printable games and activities reusable.
